Peer Review Process
All manuscripts are considered confidential. They are peer-reviewed by at least two anonymous reviewers selected by the Editorial Board. The corresponding author is notified as soon as possible of the editor's decision to accept, reject, or request modifications. If the manuscript meets the criteria set forth in these instructions, it is scheduled for the next available issue.
The peer review process follows the steps mentioned below :
First, the editor(s) acts as a preliminary filter by evaluating each manuscript for novelty, interest to our readers, and potential competitiveness in peer review. This process avoids futile cycles of review for manuscripts better suited to more specialized journals, saving time for authors and reviewers. Modifications or corrections may be requested from the authors at this stage before beginning the peer review.
In the second step, editors typically select two reviewers who are experts in the subject area. Often, we also include one expert in statistics or a specific technique. Peer reviewers will provide suggestions to the editor(s).
Authors can monitor the progress of the manuscript throughout the review process in his/her profile.
Submitted manuscripts will receive one of the following decisions:
- Accept Submission: The submission is accepted without revisions.
- Revisions Required: The submission is accepted after minor changes have been made.
- Resubmit for Review: The submission needs reworking and significant changes may lead to acceptance; however, it will require a second round of review.
- Decline Submission: The submission will not be published in the journal.
If the author(s) believe that the journal has rejected their article in error, perhaps because the reviewers misunderstood its scientific content, an appeal may be submitted via email to the editorial office (journal's email). However, appeals are ineffective in most cases and discouraged.
