Background and Purpose: Mosques are part of public places, and like other similar places, it is essential to observe health standards due to the visits of various groups of people. Failure to maintain hygiene turns mosques into centers for the spread of pathogens and endangers the health of the general public. The aim of this research is to examine the environmental health status of mosques in the city of Eyvan in the year 2023.

Materials and Methods: This study is a descriptive cross-sectional survey. The statistical population consisted of all 10 mosques in the city of Eyvan, all of which were examined in this project through a census. In this study, the standard checklist designed for mosque inspections approved by the Ministry of Health was used, and the necessary information was collected. To complete the aforementioned checklist, the health records of mosques in health centers were reviewed. Finally, Excel software was used for data analysis.

Results: The results showed that the mosques in the city of Eyvan comply with the regulations regarding personal hygiene, tools and equipment, and the condition of the building's hygiene at rates of 30%, 80%, and 80%, respectively. Overall, 60% of the parameters of the mosques under review matched the checklist and scored above 75.

Conclusion: According to the results of this study, the mosques examined had the highest compliance with health regulations in terms of tools and equipment and building hygiene, and the lowest compliance with health regulations regarding personal hygiene. By increasing inspections and continuous supervision by environmental health experts, effective steps can be taken to improve the sanitary conditions of the mosques.
