Background: Prioritizing areas for identifying the potential exploitation of water resources with pollution potential is a complex decision-making process that must be conducted by studying the various conditions of the region. Therefore, in order to manage water resources, an optimal decision-making method should be selected for the development and assessment of areas susceptible to pollution in the future. In the present study, prioritization was based on the pollution potential in the groundwater resources of the Khorramabad aquifer.
Methods: In this study, a land use map was created using images from the Landsat 8 OLI sensor. Additionally, during various stages of preparing the land use map for the Khorramabad basin and assessing the accuracy of the predicted maps, the software ArcGIS 10.3 and Envi 5.3 were utilized. Various parameters from the wells in Khorramabad were collected and calculated, and based on their significance in creating pollution potential, they were incorporated into the Borda and bargaining algorithms. Subsequently, they were scored based on the examined parameters.
Results: Using the Borda and bargaining algorithms in game theory, the most effective parameters in the wells and the most critical resources in terms of pollution potential were identified. By applying the Borda scoring method, the parameters of carbonate with a score of 179.5, phosphate with a score of 135.5, and sodium absorption ratio with a score of 130.5 were identified as the most effective parameters. In the analysis using the bargaining algorithm, the parameters of carbonate, chloride, and sulfate were found to be the most influential.
Conclusion: Finally, the prioritization of water resources was presented using both methods. In the Borda method, the wells of Sarab-Yas, Aliabad, and Balilvand were ranked as the top priorities. Game theory has been employed as a multidimensional solution in various decision-making contexts and ultimately provides a managerial and comprehensive approach.
